December 7, 2011 — After almost 32 years with the company, President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Dodge will retire next June, Graymont Board Chairman Graham Weir announced.
“It is with mixed emotions that we accepted Bill’s decision to retire in June 2012,” Weir said. “He will be greatly missed, but we understand the time is right for Bill and Maryteen to enjoy their retirement years.” According to Weir, under Dodge’s leadership, the company has become stronger and more resilient; able to prosper in challenging economic times. “There has also been great progress with our safety performance, as well as how we interact with our communities to earn our social license,” Weir pointed out.
“But we are very pleased to announce our unanimous selection of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Stéphane Godin as Bill’s successor,” Weir said. “Stéphane’s appointment will take effect in June after the Annual Meeting.”
A graduate of Laval University and a Certified Management Accountant, Godin joined Graymont in 2003 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He assumed broader responsibilities with his promotion to Executive Vice President Operations in 2007. In 2010, he took on the EVP and COO role which entailed leadership of all the company’s lime operations. “Stéphane has also played a significant role in our past success and we are confident that his leadership capabilities will serve us well in the future,” Weir said.
