On the 20 August 2025, Graymont submitted an updated EA amendment application to DETSI. This means that the project has now progressed into the public notification stage.
The public notification stage is required for the EA Amendment and includes a notification (in a local newspaper) and the publishing of the application documents so that they can be accessed by the community.
The environmental authority (EA) amendment seeks to update the authorised disturbance areas and post mining land uses currently listed within the EA to reflect intended mining activities until end of mine life, and to modernise the EA to align with in-force legislation.
