Northwestern Middle School Tour

Wisconsin – Graymont (WI) LLC hosted a tour for the Northwestern Middle School boys' sixth grade classes. Fred Lehman, Maintenance Supervisor, explains:

"We were fortunate enough to have 56 students and 6 staff members, led by teacher Kraig Anderson. We split the class into two groups. They enjoyed a brief history lesson about the lime industry and the purchase of the plant by Graymont. The tour itself lasted about one hour each with lots of questions asked and answered along the way. We answered questions about jobs, processing, shipping, use of coal and how we monitor our air quality, and the working with and around the high temperatures of kilns. We really enjoyed the student's visit and I'm sure they were happy as well, because they asked if we could schedule more time next year which we all agreed to do. All left with a big smile and a Graymont hat and pen."

The tour was hosted by Graymont (WI)'s community investment team, supervisors and plant manager Phil Marquis.

Graymont takes a long term view of its business and the lime industry and is looking forward to continuing its work in Wisconsin and in so doing, improving our environment, contributing to the community as a good neighbor and adding value as a responsible business partner.
