Asphalt

Asphalt utilization

There are millions of miles of highways and roadways all over the world manufactured with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). It is the preferred road-building material, especially in geographic regions where climatic changes are extreme. HMA is a flexible material that enables the pavement to withstand severe freeze/thaw cycles without breaking.

The Materials Group has seven asphalt plants in Northeastern New York supplying the region with quality paving materials. Graymont produces both the standard Department of Transportation (DOT) mixes for driveways, parking areas and municipal roadways and also the new 'superpave' mixes for particularly demanding applications.
