Following the successful completion of the acquisition by Graymont of Sibelco’s lime and limestone businesses in Australia, Malaysia and the Philippines in 2019, Sibelco and Graymont announced today that they have jointly decided to no longer pursue the purchase and sale of Sibelco’s Indonesian business, which Sibelco will continue to operate.

Graymont announced today that it is restarting the Charbon lime plant, located approximately 160 kilometres north of Sydney in New South Wales, in response to increased market demand.

Graymont plans to build a state-of-the-art production facility adjacent to its high-grade limestone deposit in Rexton, Michigan, that will enhance its ability to reliably meet demand for high-quality lime and limestone to its customer base in the Great Lakes region, while providing a boost to the local economy.

The facility will produce a variety of lime and limestone products designed to help address society’s needs, facilitating applications that range from purifying our air and water to supporting the manufacturing of steel, other metals and paper.

Graymont and Grupo Calidra announced today that they are moving forward with the previously announced acquisition of the global lime and limestone business of the Belgium-based Sibelco group.

Transaction will enable Graymont to significantly extend its global reach in the Asia-Pacific region while further expanding Grupo Calidra’s presence in Latin America

Dignitaries from the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec, the Regional Municipality of Brome-Missisquoi (MRC), the Town of Bedford, Bedford Township and Stanbridge Station today joined Graymont representatives and employees to celebrate the official launch of the Bedford Heritage Project, an innovative initiative that will ensure the long-term operations of one of the largest employers in the region.

Graymont today confirmed that it has completed the transaction to sell its New York Materials business to Upstone Materials, Inc., a member of the Barrett Industries Group, a leader in the paving, aggregates and construction sectors.

The New York Materials business is focused on providing construction stone, sand and gravel, asphalt products and ready-mix concrete to meet infrastructure and general construction needs in the region
