On April 26, 2009, Graymont’s Havelock Plant in Eastern Canada accomplished a new safety record – four years accident free.

PRESS RELEASE - For immediate publication - It is with deep regret that Allen Walsh, Bedford‘s Graymont plant manager, confirms the death of an employee, Mr. Michel Lemaire, aged 59, who was involved in a work-related accident. The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m. yesterday at the Bedford plant site.

In a lime industry first, Graymont’s Pleasant Gap, Pennsylvania plant started producing power today from their new waste heat recovery and power generation system.

Roland Charest, a production employee who has worked at the Graymont Joliette plant for the past 21 years, was asked by Graymont in 2004 to take a First Aid course.  Little did he know that this training would help him save a man’s life.

Graymont Materials (US headquarters in Plattsburgh NY), was recently selected as the Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce “Business of the Year”. This award recognizes Graymont Materials’ participation, numerous financial and service contributions and overall commitment to the communities where they operate.

Graymont Materials provides a wide array of construction materials such as aggregates, sand and gravel, decorative stone, asphalt and ready-mix concrete to the northern New York area from their numerous quarries and plants.

In support of their local West Wendover, Nevada community, the Graymont Pilot Peak Plant recently donated the limestone fines needed to create the base for the new outdoor recreational venue the Leppy Hills Trails.

Genoa, Ohio – Graymont is proud to announce that on March 19, Graymont’s Genoa Plant, Graymont Dolime Inc., was awarded the Ottawa County Improvement Corporation’s (OCIC) prestigious “Business of the Year” award at the 2008 Business and Industry Awards Dinner. Graymont Dolime won in the business category of companies in the county with 31-65 employees (Graymont Dolime currently employs 61).

Joliette — André Lauzon, Manager of Graymont’s Joliette plant, today informed his employees, their representing union, as well as Graymont’s suppliers of the company’s decision to withdraw from the ready mix concrete stone market.
