Richmond, British Columbia -- Graymont today announced plans to build a new lime hydrating and distribution facility to meet growing market demand in Northern Alberta and surrounding region.

The investment is consistent with Graymont’s strategy for growth in Western Canada and its objective to be the supplier and partner of choice in the lime and limestone industry.  “This initiative confirms Graymont’s objective to enhance its ability to reliably serve both existing and new customers across Alberta,” said President and CEO Stéphane Godin.

Newberry, Michigan -- Graymont, one of North America’s leading lime producers, confirmed today it is conducting an exploration program in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula to firm up the quality and quantity of limestone deposits to support a new quarrying operation.

Richmond, British Columbia -- Graymont is moving ahead with plans to add a state-of-the-art, low-emissions third kiln to its mining and production complex in Pleasant Gap PA, to meet growing lime product market demands in Pennsylvania and surrounding region.

Graymont has applied to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for the requisite air quality permit and is proceeding with detailed engineering and design work for the new gas-fired kiln.  The new kiln will feature the most environmentally friendly technology anywhere in the lime industry.

After almost 32 years with the company, President and Chief Executive Officer Bill Dodge will retire next June, Graymont Board Chairman Graham Weir announced.

Plattsburgh, October 15, 2011 – Graymont Materials, in Plattsburg, NY participated again this year in their community’s Heart Walk fund raiser.

Nate Dutil (Graymont Mining Engineer) was the team captain for this year’s Heart Walk.  Their team raised over $3,000.  The donations support the American Heart Association’s clinical, educational and research programs in the North Country area.

Boucherville – Graymont's Bedford Plant in Quebec, donated $4,000 to their local Fire Department that serves the townships of Bedford, Stanbridge Station, and Notre-Dame de Stanbridge,  to help replace old “Jaws of Life” equipment.

Plattsburgh – Scott Bombard, Sales Manager at Graymont Materials, in Plattsburgh, NY along with fellow employees and a few family members prepared a dinner for those in need at a local church. Trinity Church (see full article in local newspaper) along with volunteers regularly serve a dinner each Wednesday, to approximately 70 people who require some help in the community.

According to Scott, the whole experience was very rewarding and uplifting. They served a total of 80 people during the night.
