Bedford Supports Local Fire Departments

Boucherville – Graymont's Bedford Plant in Quebec, donated $4,000 to their local Fire Department that serves the townships of Bedford, Stanbridge Station, and Notre-Dame de Stanbridge,  to help replace old “Jaws of Life” equipment.

John Fontaine, Graymont operator and firefighter for the town of Bedford, and Mr. Ralph Gilmain, Fire Department Director, worked together on this project to raise funds.  New “Jaws of Life” equipment was needed because the old equipment was not able to cut through certain types of steel which is now available on newer cars.  The new equipment will allow the Fire Department greater efficiency and speed when extracting an injured person from their car, which in essence saves lives.

Graymont takes a long term view of its business and the lime industry and is looking forward to continuing its work in Bedford and in so doing, improving our environment, contributing to the community as a good neighbor and adding value as a responsible business partner.
